Making The ZRR Model From Pictures

Making The ZRR Model From Pictures
While  making the famous The ZRR model
from the 1966 movie bond spoof beach movie,
might be a little hard.I have pictures from the
            model kit.
If you can think about two inch long type
of slender tear drop fenders, which are in scale,
if you make them the size of the photo.
Please look every photo as to,make the parts
in1/25.(The Firebug photo is used to show how
the car is made without the fenders.)
First start by using a Munster Koach body.
Now cut after the first door, and, then also cut
after the middle door, now move the the third
doors with the rest of rear body all the way
forward. You need to make sure, you, glue both
sections of the front half, and rear half thorough-
ly together.I would advise taking cuting a verti-
cal piece of sheet plastic no smaller then 1/8"
the vertical height of the body. You need the body
            perfectly lined up.Use hobby clamps,or a regular
close pins.Use one at the top one bottom, and one
in the middle if there is room. However make sure
you do not move body, while drying,or your body
will not be straight.Have a friend help you,who is
great at setting bodies in halfs together; if you are
having trouble. After the body dries for two weeks,
then apply a small even amount of body putty,to
fill in the line, seen down the body, where it was
glued to gether. (The ZRR front and rear doors,
            were removed grafted together,and reinforced
inside with plywood. If you want to do the same,
            added even strips,of plastic,inside,and cut a new
inner door panel, and glue into place.)

                      am picture shows how
wide it is,with how high the scoop made from
sheet plastic,or Plastic Strut. The  pictures also
show a single leaf spring used in Model Ts.Use
a Amt model for this, along with a stock fire wall.
The instructions, are open for the open box to fit
in back of cab.Remember, use two Amt 1966
Riveria kits. You need those two Buick 425 CID
             engines,with two four barrel carburetors.You
             need
one Caddy air cleaner, that will fill under the front
four injector scoop. You need two  Revell Ford
Parts Packs. You will only use the two four injec-
             tor
scoops. You will make the frame out of square
             tubing.
Make sure you have the rear engine close to cowl,
             and
have your braces to your two engines. The first
             engine
brace will be towards the back. The real car had a
             two-speed
Buick automatic transmission, attached to the rear
engine, your drive shaft with universal joints at both
             ends.
attached to a Oldsmobile differential, which you get
             from
a Beatnic Bandit.Make sure you cut off your transmis-
             sion,
to your engines,as Amt has both molded,as one unit.If
             you
not worried about having a Buick two-speed transmis-
             sion,
then just cut off the transmission to the front engine, and
             glue
             to the second engine.Please note,these two engines,are
             mounted
tandem style, like a double dragster. The engines are red,
             and
the carburetors gold.Try mixing a little silver with gold to
             make a
pot metal look. You can look,at the open box curve,in the
             model
to make the holder for the Radiator grill shell. You will have
             to
scratch build this from sheet plastic. You will first make a box,
             then
a small triangle on top.In the front your box where the grill
             area is,
you made make it deep,by adding sheets of plastic,in a 3D
             look,
You will cover you scratch built radiator shell, with gold Bare
             Metal.
Take Tamia Clear Brown, and lightly go over all the gold Bare
Metal, until in has a brass radiator grill look.If you are not com-
             fortable
with doing this, then just stick to the gold Bare Metal. The seats
closes are those any MPC Switch kits, they are tall, but will have
to be tuck in rolled,by either using Plastic Strut,or Ever Green
strips from your Hobby Train Store. The dashboard  in this car
modelis chrome. The real car had Mercury gauges. The E/F for
empty and fuel was retangular.Do not forget your toggle swiches,
on your dashboard. The headers are also on the tree, you can use
3/32" brash hollow tubing, and do not forget to by a tube bender.
Remember, both set of headers,go into long pipes out back. You
need a larger tube to fit into these tubes.A small plastic ball that
can be glued in,to make it look like two CO2 capsules.Use
           MPC
Switcher rear tires, with Revell 1964 Ford Thunderbolt rear
           Three
Ribbed Mags.Radirs, had a red cap in the middle of the dust
            cover.
Use on front Bad Man Monagram's frotnt tires, and their Radir
Star Mags.To make the front fenders follow the photo.Do not
forget the pontoons that mount to the body and support the
            weight.
You ask how do I make those spare tire carriers? My ideas is
            use a stock tire
tire, from a car made in the 1960's or 1970's.By using this as a
            pattern,outline the tire.Then measure,the width of the tire.We are
doing this,to make the sides. You need four proper outlined circles,
and you will have to make the sides,by rounding the width, around
your tire. After you have two realistic tire carrires, you need to use
Ever Green strips,or Plastic Struct, and count how many tuck and
rolls are on the picture of the tire carriers. You also need to do it
           for
your doors, that are tuck and roll, and also the custom top.The top is
nothing but steel, rounded around  rear of the body with chrome
           rings
and port holes and port windows. Then the front part the top is flat
         ,but
you must make tassles for it with, pompoms. The easiest way is make
          you
tassles strings no longer then 1/8".The pom poms cam be made with
          very
small.Silion balls, you get in any product, like leather to protect it.Count
           how
many, there were on the real car,and glue them too your string. When
          dried,
paint them with testors yellow. For the chrome windshield, used your
          model
Munster Koack windshield, and angle that top windshield. When you
         have
made properly, cover with Bare Metal Chrome. There are two side hood
doors on the bottom. You also need two rectangular model headlights,
        turned
vertical. You will have to make light covers that fit with the hood doors
        There
were three tall,no more than3/16" flower type radiator caps. You will
        need also
two model T radiators, for this model, and four radiator hoses, which you

       use Plastic Strut,or anything,that is small,that looks
like a radiator hose.By the way your body, front fenders, and all tuck in roll
        inside
and out is gold.Use your rear Muster Koach fenders, and paint them Laven-
       der.
Also paint the hood doors and headlight shells lavender.I have included the
photos. The top shows the body.see thin frin fenders, the top, with port holes.
the next picture is the instructions opened to the truck bed,and the third is
the decals. The two identical ones are for your doors. The simulated wood
tone is for your floor of the car.The fouth pictures shows the chrome from
the headers to the five horns in back of radiators.Notice the shape the
headers to fit around hood doors on the bottom.Another picture that might
help is Firebug,it is the ZZR without the custom fenders, top,or custom radi-
ator shell. It shows how the doors are made since the custom fenders are not
        made.

from the real model,in 1/25 so you can build this model.I am tired of buyers
      ,taking
this model from us.Many just buy the model, and resell it again. As long as I
       have
pictures  and draw cars,no one will keep any model from me.
